Owner chef, Yoichi Iguchi (known in Billingsgate market as “Yoyo”) has worked for over 20 years as a chef. Born in Tokyo and inspired by his father and grandfather who were also chefs, he initially trained at the prestigious Ginza Asta, one of the best Chinese restaurants in Japan. He moved to London in 1995 and worked at various Japanese restaurants, including Nobu in Park Lane. There, he made sushi for the stars and if you look above the counter in the shop, you will see his chefs’ knives signed byRobert De Niro, Madonna, Nobu and a hat signed by Kylie Minogue.

In 1999, he became the main fish buyer for most of the Japanese restaurants in London. He has now accomplished one of his dreams of sharing his delicious food with the community by opening Yoyo Kitchen in his local area, where he lives with his wife and four children. All the food is prepared daily on the premises, using ingredients carefully selected by Yoichi.
